Intensive outpatient treatment, from wherever you are

Nova Recovery Center’s online IOP is an eight-week program of live, fully interactive group sessions of three hours at a time, three days a week, led by a licensed counselor broadcasting from a licensed Texas facility. It is open to residents across Texas.

You will not have to commute, pause your education or risk your job to attend. Online drug rehab suits people who live far from a clinic, who travel, or who would simply rather not sit in a room to do this.

Prefer in-person care? Our outpatient rehab runs groups in Austin, Houston and San Antonio, and you can move between virtual and on-site care without changing provider.

What we treat in the online program

Each treatment plan is built for one person. These are the substances we treat most often in the online program; if yours is not here, it is still worth the call.

  1. Alcohol

Withdrawal can be life-threatening without medical care. We monitor vital signs and use medications when needed to reduce symptoms and complications.

  2. Opiates and opioids

From prescription painkillers to illicit opioids like fentanyl, the online program helps manage physical dependence and intense cravings.

  3. Benzodiazepines

Stopping medications like Xanax, Valium and Ativan slowly, with a doctor’s help, is important. Stopping suddenly can lead to seizures and more anxiety.

  4. Cocaine

While not physically addictive in the same way as opioids, recovery from cocaine requires emotional and psychological stabilization.

  5. Heroin

Our team provides 24/7 support during heroin withdrawal, using medications and therapy to reduce discomfort and promote stability.

  6. Methamphetamine

Recovery from meth can cause extreme fatigue, depression and anxiety. We help ease these symptoms in a structured, supportive setting.

  7. Prescription drugs

We assist individuals taking medications such as Adderall, Ambien or painkillers, concentrating on physical symptoms and psychological well-being.

  8. Synthetic drugs

Recovery from synthetic cannabinoids, bath salts or designer stimulants is managed with careful observation and individualized treatment plans.

Virtual IOP by city

How the online program works

It runs for eight weeks. A licensed professional counselor leads every three-hour group session, broadcasting from a licensed Texas facility. These are fully interactive groups, not pre-recorded video.

  • When the groups meet

    • Mondays, 9am to 12pm or 6pm to 9pm CST
    • Wednesdays, 9am to 12pm or 6pm to 9pm CST
    • Thursdays, 9am to 12pm or 6pm to 9pm CST
  • What happens before you start

    • A comprehensive assessment, to work out whether online IOP is right for you
    • An insurance check on your first call, or a look at other payment options
    • Help setting up the portal on your computer, phone or tablet
  • On insurance

We accept most major health insurance providers and coverage varies case by case, so we contact your insurer during the initial call rather than leaving you to find out later.

Where the in-person groups are

The online program reaches all of Texas. These are the cities where we also run groups in a room, if you would rather: see every location.

More than a video call

The online program gives you the same quality and care as the in-person one, without the drive to a clinic, and it is backed by the same continuum our in-person clients get. When they fit your recovery, your team can add to it.

  • What your team can add

    • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT): evidence-based medication support alongside counseling.
    • Family Program: structured support so the people closest to you can heal and help, too.
  • Your level of care can move

Because Nova also offers detox, residential rehab and in-person IOP, your level of care can step up or down without starting over with a new provider.
