Virtual IOP in Houston, Texas
Virtual IOP in Houston
Nova’s virtual intensive outpatient program delivers real, structured addiction treatment to wherever you are in the Houston metro, with no drive at either end of the evening.
Houston is big enough that the trip in from the suburbs can take an entire evening on its own. That is the barrier this program removes.
The sessions are live and interactive, led by a licensed counselor and broadcast from Nova’s licensed Texas facility. They are not pre-recorded videos, and this is not a self-guided app.

Why Nova’s Virtual IOP, not just any telehealth
- Live and interactive, never pre-recorded.Every group is led in real time by a licensed Texas counselor: real clinical guidance and real peer connection.
- A real 8-week structure.Three 3-hour groups a week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday), not a vague weekly check-in.
- Mornings or evenings.Choose 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. or 6:00–9:00 p.m. CST so treatment fits around shift work, the office, or family.
- A full continuum behind it.Nova also offers detox, residential rehab, in-person IOP, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and a family program, so care can step up or down without switching providers.
How Nova's online IOP works
You begin with a confidential assessment so our clinical team can confirm virtual IOP is the right level of care. From there:
- 8-week program built on evidence-based group and individual counseling.
- Three sessions per week (Mon/Wed/Thu), three hours each, in a morning or evening track.
- Relapse-prevention work and continuing-care planning so progress holds after the program ends.
- MAT and a Family Program available when they’re a fit.
- Join securely from a computer, phone, or tablet, all you need is a private space and internet.
What we treat
Nova’s virtual IOP supports recovery from alcohol and a range of substances, including opioids and fentanyl, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methamphetamine, and prescription-medication misuse. Your counselor tailors the work to your history and goals.
Virtual IOP for Houston residents
Between sprawling distances, demanding schedules in Houston’s energy, medical, and port industries, and traffic that turns a short trip into an hour, getting to treatment in person isn’t realistic for everyone. Virtual IOP meets you where you are, attend a morning group before a shift or an evening group after work, from anywhere in Harris County and the surrounding metro. It’s a strong fit if you have steady responsibilities, a supportive home setting, and don’t need 24-hour medical supervision. If on-site care would serve you better, Nova’s in-person IOP in Houston is available, and your team can help you move between the two.
