Fighting chronic relapse with long-term treatment
Nova Recovery Center answers chronic relapse with an affordable 15-month continuum of care that carries you from medically assisted detox, through residential and outpatient treatment, and into sober life with support that lasts well after treatment ends.
Chronic relapse is a struggle for many people in recovery, even after they have completed several different treatment programs. Programs that do not prepare you for the challenges of early recovery, and do not provide long-term support, leave an endless cycle that is frustrating and discouraging.
From medically assisted detox to aftercare, our addiction professionals build a multifaceted, individualized treatment plan, and our Texas inpatient rehab center carries you through residential and outpatient treatment and back into the world.

Our full continuum of care
Nine programs, in the order most people move through them: detox first, then residential rehab, then outpatient treatment, then the support that carries on afterwards.
You do not have to start at the beginning. Each program is individualized and adjusted as you progress, and your treatment team oversees the move from one level to the next.
-
Medically assisted detox
We offer medically assisted detox at two Texas facilities, Briarwood Detox Center in Austin and in Houston. Each provides individualized detox for all addictive substances, led by addiction experts trained to recognize and manage the many different symptoms of withdrawal, with licensed clinical counselors providing therapeutic support throughout. Your treatment team makes individual recommendations for ongoing care and oversees your transition into inpatient or outpatient rehab.
If you’re in Bexar County and want a nearby start, our drug and alcohol detox in San Antonio makes day‑one easier.
-
Residential inpatient
Our residential drug and alcohol rehab program provides 90 days of healing with individual, group and family therapy, educational lectures and 12-step program work. The plan is individualized and adjusted regularly to track your progress and any contributing issues uncovered in treatment, which gives you an adequate amount of time to resolve what is underneath the addiction and adopt a new way of living in a safe, sober environment.
-
Intensive outpatient
Our intensive outpatient program offers eight weeks of structured treatment designed to support the move from residential care to independent sober living. Group counseling runs three times a week and works through cognitive restructuring, communication and social skills, family dynamics and how addiction affects your mind and body. It is built to be flexible, so you can keep up with work, school or family while you continue treatment.
Our intensive outpatient programs are available across multiple Texas communities, including San Antonio addiction treatment that lets clients keep up with work and family while in recovery.
-
Online outpatient
Online IOP offers the same eight weeks of group sessions with the ability to attend remotely, from home or anywhere else. Interactive video groups run three times a week at convenient times, which suits clients who live in remote areas, cannot travel, or would rather attend from home. The care, structure and peer support are the same as the in-person program, without the travel.
-
Sober living
We offer sober living for men, women and LGBTQ individuals through our sister program, Eudaimonia Recovery Homes, with houses in Austin and Houston in Texas, Colorado Springs in Colorado and Chicago in Illinois. Each home provides structured scheduling, support programming, drug and alcohol testing, and on-site and off-site staff, and is designed to teach responsibility and life skills and to build healthy routines in early recovery.
-
Aftercare
The fight to overcome addiction does not end when inpatient and outpatient treatment finish, and early recovery is a vulnerable time. Our aftercare program is built for alumni: a weekly group, facilitated by a licensed counselor and structured as ongoing group therapy, where you can talk through the challenges and the accomplishments as they happen.
-
Supportive outpatient
Our supportive outpatient program helps you build a vision for your life and work toward your sobriety goals with relapse prevention techniques and career and educational support. Led by our clinical team, it covers the risks and causes of relapse and the tools for preventing it, and our professional team helps you build a resume, find a job and make a plan for your educational goals.
-
Personal monitoring
Our personal monitoring program is curriculum-based and pairs you with a sober coach for a 12-week period. You work toward your curriculum goals as a team with your coach, your family and your friends, which keeps you accountable to your sobriety, helps you avoid relapse triggers and lets you define and reach your goals after rehab ends.
-
Continuum of care
Our 15-month continuum of care guides you through each step of the journey, starting with residential treatment and ending with your transition back into society. Handling the whole process ourselves lets us hand-pick each piece of your addiction care so it meets your needs, and the long-term package gives you the best opportunity for lifelong sobriety with ongoing support behind you.

Inside the supportive outpatient program
SOP helps you transition back into society after rehab. Where our longer Intensive Outpatient Program is mainly counseling, this one is brief and practical: everyday coping strategies, plus employment and education assistance. The group meets three times a week at our outpatient drug rehab center, is facilitated by a licensed counselor, and typically runs 30 days.

Our Personal Monitoring Program can run alongside SOP as an accountability tool.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Programs
Which level of care do I need?
That is what the assessment is for, and it is free. Broadly: medical detox comes first if you are physically dependent, residential inpatient follows when you need 24-hour support, and intensive outpatient suits someone who can live at home while attending structured sessions. Sober living supports the stretch after treatment. Our admissions team will talk it through with you and say plainly if we are not the right fit.
Do I have to do every stage?
No. The continuum exists so that care matches where you actually are, not so that everyone passes through all of it. Some people start at detox and step down through each level; others come straight into outpatient. What matters is that the level is clinically appropriate, which is a decision made with you rather than for you.
How quickly can treatment start?
Same-day admission is available. How fast depends on the level of care and, where your plan requires it, on prior authorization, which our admissions team handles with your insurer on your behalf. Admissions are answered 24 hours a day.
Where are your programs located?
Nova operates in Texas, with services reaching Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Wimberley, Buda, San Marcos and Dallas, and outpatient care in Colorado Springs and Philadelphia. Which programs run in which city varies, so ask when you call and we will tell you what is actually available near you.
