Our Philosophy

The thinking behind the program

Nova’s program is built on three things: individualized treatment that addresses the underlying issues behind the addiction, evidence-based methods, and recovery support services that continue afterwards.

Together they are meant to give somebody in early recovery a foundation solid enough to heal, restore and rebuild on. The three sections below take each part in turn.

Treats
The underlying issues, not only the symptoms
Method
12-step immersion with evidence-based therapies
Plans
Customized, and adjusted as you progress
After rehab
Recovery support services continue

The three parts of the philosophy are set out below. Admissions can tell you what it looks like in practice.

Philosophy: Treating more than Symptoms

Drug and alcohol addiction rarely stands alone. In most cases, it reflects a deeper issue. Many people use substances to escape guilt, shame, spiritual pain, or emotional emptiness. Continued use weakens willpower and buries emotions behind walls that shut others out. At Nova, we break down those walls by targeting the root causes of addiction. Our treatment program opens a clear path toward lasting recovery and emotional healing. Our compassionate staff understands your struggle because many of us have lived it ourselves. We’re here to help you take control and live a life free from shame and guilt.

Philosophy: Providing Powerful and Balanced Treatment

Nova’s treatment method stands out by combining 12-step immersion with evidence-based therapies for balanced addiction recovery. Our experienced staff recognizes that each client’s recovery journey is unique, so we customize every treatment plan. Our multidisciplinary team actively develops and adjusts plans based on your specific needs and progress. Years of experience in addiction treatment prove that this personalized approach leads to lasting sobriety. It also allows us to focus fully on your personal growth throughout recovery.

Philosophy: Supporting Lasting Recovery

Recovery is an ongoing process, not a one-time event. In order for clients to maintain their sobriety after completing detox and drug rehab, it’s essential that they have the right support. To compliment every client’s clinical treatment, we also offer recovery support services long after residential rehab has been completed. Our continuum of care is designed to close the gap between residential treatment and a life in recovery away from the rehab center by personally guiding every client through the process.

Nova offers intensive and supportive outpatient care, sober living programs, personal monitoring, and ongoing aftercare programs for our alumni. Each of these recovery support services is designed to provide peer support, accountability, life skills, and resources to maintain long-term sobriety. While no recovery program can offer a quick and easy fix, Nova Recovery Center makes a promise to be present and supportive for every client throughout the process. We are proud of our staff’s compassion, hard work, and dedication, and together, we all work diligently to ensure the safety, privacy, health, and well-being of each client.

Long-Term Drug Rehab FAQs

What is long‑term rehab?

Long‑term rehab refers to treatment programs lasting 90 days or more, and can extend to 6 months, 1 year, or even 2 years. These are often residential or therapeutic community models designed for individuals with chronic or complex addiction histories

What are the benefits of long‑term rehab?

Extended treatment allows for sustained support, deeper therapy, stronger behavioral change, and addressing underlying issues. Studies show stays of 90+ days significantly improve outcomes and reduce relapse risk

Does insurance cover long‑term rehab?

Yes. Most insurance plans (including Medicaid/Medicare where applicable) cover long‑term treatment. Coverage limits and duration vary, verification through your provider or your treatment center is essential

How long should I stay in rehab?

Treatment length depends on individual needs. While even short-term stays offer benefits, experts generally recommend a minimum of 90 days, with longer programs for those with long-term addiction, co-occurring disorders, or multiple relapses

What types of long‑term programs are available?

Common options include: Therapeutic communities with 6–12 month residential stays for rebuilding structure and social support Extended inpatient or residential programs tailored to individual needs and recovery goals
